The smaller pomegranate, carved in Matcha — a pale celadon-green marble, soft and milky, the color of the fruit before it ripens, while the skin is still green. The form is the large vase's: a full, round body and a short neck banded with dentils, the tooth-like blocks of a classical cornice that give the piece its name, from the Latin for tooth.

It works the same way, too — the weight sits low and keeps the vessel planted, so stems stay where they are set. At six inches across, it is sized for the cutting a garden actually gives: a few stems rather than an armful.

Janie's note: This one is for my father, who taught me that "dentilated" means teeth — which I have always found chic. I pictured it in a study or a library. The pomegranate is a motif I come back to again and again; it has carried meanings of hospitality and abundance for centuries. — Janie Kruse Garnett

Dimensions: 6" Diameter x 5.75" H

Janie Kruse Garnett designs jewelry on the logic of classical architecture — trained in art history, with Palladio, Inigo Jones, and the golden ratio among her working references. This collaboration carries that bench-scale precision into stone. Each vessel is drawn from a classical source — a newel-post finial, a mustard pot, a Victorian rose bowl — and engineered to hold flowers in practice: rounded lips where a stem might otherwise snap, wide bases that resist tipping, and enough marble weight to steady a tall, top-heavy bouquet. Every piece is carved in Indian marble by the artisans of our Rajasthan atelier in a limited production run.

Care Instructions

Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid acidic foods, harsh chemicals, and abrasive pads. Marble can be buffed with a clean natural oil to restore its shine. Brass and aluminum will slowly deepen in color, gathering the soft patina that comes only with time and touch.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind, shaped by hand from natural stone or cast metal by skilled artisans in Rajasthan, India. Subtle shifts in tone, texture, and form are part of its story—variations we embrace, whether born from the earth or the maker’s touch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every Anastasio Home object is hand-finished by artisans in our atelier in Rajasthan, using natural stone and cast metals. Here's what to know before you bring one home.

Will my piece look exactly like the picture?

No two pieces are identical. Natural stone varies in veining, tone, and surface detail — that's part of what makes each object one of a kind. If you have a preference for a particular look, add a note at checkout and we'll do our best to accommodate.

How do I care for my marble or metal piece?

Marble and stone: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Use mild soap and water for stains. Avoid harsh cleaners and acidic substances like lemon or vinegar, which can etch the surface. Over time, marble may develop a natural patina — most of our collectors consider that part of its character.

Brass: Will oxidize and darken naturally over time. Polish with a gentle metal cleaner to restore brightness, or let it age gracefully.

Aluminum: Low maintenance. Simply wipe clean with a soft cloth.

What does "limited production" mean?

We work in small batches, often tied to a specific stone lot. Some designs can be reproduced, but others are available only once. When a stone is gone, it's gone.

How long will shipping take?

In-stock items typically ship within a few business days. Transit time depends on your location. You'll receive a tracking number once your order is on its way. We also ship internationally.

What is your return and exchange policy?

Anastasio Home accepts returns and exchanges for 14 days from purchase. Returns will incur a flat rate shipping cost of $15 and a 10% restocking fee. Exchanges are always complimentary. Fees waived for returns for store credit.

If your piece arrives damaged, email photos to hello@anastasiohome.com upon delivery and we'll make it right.

CRAFTED IN OUR ATELIER

Every piece begins as a raw slab of stone or a cast of molten metal — then it's shaped, carved, and finished by hand by our team of artisans in Rajasthan. We work in small batches tied to specific stone lots, so no two production runs are ever quite the same. The result is an object with a character that only human hands can give it.

UPCYCLED STONE, HEIRLOOM QUALITY

Most of our objects are fabricated from remnant stone — high-quality marble that would otherwise go to waste. We design around what the stone gives us, honoring its natural veining and variation. The result is something built to outlast trends, seasons, and everything around it.
