Louis Pastour Bouquet, 1945 | Vintage
- Only 1 left in stock!
Louis Pastour began painting with a palette knife to save his brushes, which he could not afford to replace, and the method became the technique he is remembered for in Cannes — where they called him the painter of the sun. Every bloom here is built from separate loaded strokes laid on and left alone, standing off the canvas in ridges that catch the light from the side, against a ground worked in dark red and near-black. Signed upper right and dated 1945, three years before his death.
Dimensions: 19.5 x 14.75 x 1.8"

Care Instructions
Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid acidic foods, harsh chemicals, and abrasive pads. Marble can be buffed with a clean natural oil to restore its shine. Brass and aluminum will slowly deepen in color, gathering the soft patina that comes only with time and touch.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind, shaped by hand from natural stone or cast metal by skilled artisans in Rajasthan, India. Subtle shifts in tone, texture, and form are part of its story—variations we embrace, whether born from the earth or the maker’s touch.
